Where are they now?

Ex Player

Ben Allison
Ben Allison spent just one year at Leeds Carnegie but he made the most of it.  Ben was a part of Coach Newby’s original squad that rampaged their way through Division Four and found promotion after just one year.  Ben’s strong work ethic and fantastic natural abilities lead to him going west across the ocean to play for one of the most popular NCAA University teams in the country over the past two years, Davidson University.  Ben is now getting regular minutes on the floor for the Division One upstart, and even had a chance to play in the scared basketball house of Madison Sqaured Garden.  If you don’t believe us about his natural abilities check out his Sports Center Highlight Dunk on youtube.

Dan McSweeney
Dan only spent one year at Leeds Carnegie but he definitely made the most of that year.  2007 – 2008 was a banner year for both the Leeds Carnegie program as well as Mr. McSweeney.  A former collegiate team mate of Matt Morely, Dan came over to Leeds Carnegie to help us complete our goal of promotion.  Not only did Dan help us achieve promotion Dan rocked National League Division Three to the tune of 21 points and 12 rebounds per game.  Both our team success and Dan’s personal success culminated in a Division Three Championship for the team and Dan being named player of the year for National League Division Three.  Dan now currently lives in Syracuse, New York where he has taken on a full time teaching post.

Rachael Claydon
Rachael is one of the original members of the current Leeds Carnegie Women’s team.  Rachael was known for her long range bombs and great off court dedication to the Women’s programme.  Rachael was team Capitan during the 2007 – 2008 season and helped lead the Division Two Women’s team to promotion to the prestigious National League Division One.  Rachael has now graduated and is currently playing for the Stockport Lapwings in National League Division Two.
