Head Coach - James Bambury
Coach James Bambury is in his second year with the Leeds Carnegie basketball program. Coach Bambury is taking the new role of Women’s National League Division One Head Coach. Last year James was the head coach of the Men’s Division 3 BUCS team while being the lead assistant of the Women’s National League Division 2 team. Coach Bambury is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and played University basketball at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. James went on to receive his Masters in Education from Carlow University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where he was an assistant with the Carlow University Women’s program. James has also coached AAU basketball in Pittsburgh and spends his summers coaching at the prestigious Five Star Basketball camp. James lives with his wife Katherine in Leeds.
Assistant Coach - Gordon Lemmey
Coach Lemmey starts his second season with the women’s program here at Leeds Carnegie. After graduating from university of Worcester in Sports science business studies, he spent four years working within the Worcester Wolves program as it rapidly developed into the BBL franchise it is today. Working within the women’s program he took the team from lower BUSA leagues into the national league. He then left Worcester to continue his study at UWIC Cardiff, studying a MSc in coaching science while working with the men’s team, the highly successful academy and the welsh universities team. Through his work in the US summer basketball camps, he joined the Coaching staff at Leeds Met last year as women’s head coach and worked with a team to gain promotion to the national league division 1 and 3rd place in the BUSA national championship.
